    WHO IS GLENN WEST?

    Glenn West is a close family friend of The Sheepdog founder, Jon Paul. Glenn and Jon Paul have been friends since early high school. In high school, Jon Paul and Glenn had their regular plans to hang out and drive around. Jon Paul’s mom made him stay home that night and sit out for their hangout this one time. That night a car ran a red light and t-boned Glenn’s car. Though the accident was traumatic and life-threatening, Glenn walked away with his life. As a result of the accident Glenn because a paraplegic, where he is paralyzed from the waist down.

    THE NEED

    • Glenn has had his van since 2001. The repair costs have become so
      problematic, he has no choice but to replace his van. To replace his van is going to be $50,000.
    • The Sheepdog sees a gap, a need that needs to be filled. Jon Paul is crazy
      enough to get people inspired to contribute him a replacement van for Glenn West.

    WHY UGBAWKA

    A close friend of Jon Paul, the founder of “The Sheepdog,” is Father Matthew Nwafor. Fr. Matthew is from Ugbawka, and was led by the spirit to present the need the town has for a well.

    WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

    • Ugbawka is a ward in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria
    • In a place like Ugbawka, water is scarce
    • It is hard for locals to find the resources to build their own well
    • We need to raise $27,000 to build a well for the people of Ugbawka

    Though Marilyn is well known for her film, Fighting the odds,” her friends and family know her for  the care and passion she has to help children of incarcerated parents

    “Parole officer Marilyn Gambrell and a colleague set up a pioneer trial-based program in one of America’s toughest high schools to help the children of incarcerated parents regain control of their own lives and not expect the same thing to happen as it did to their parents. To the surprise of everyone, the program works, but the administration warns the duo that it will not last unless every senior student is able to pass his or her final exams and graduate with the class. As the end of the school year approaches, Gambrell faces a crisis to save everything she believes in or lose it all.”
